It is Chinese

An S-shaped ornamental object,usu. made of jade, as a symbol of good luck.

Not jade I think. Its surface appearance through the hazy focus looks more like fluorite or possibly Bowenite, both softer than Jade on the Mohs scale. See fluorite image of the Budai Heshang (Cloth Sack Monk) below.
