Posted By: Richard Fri, May 05, 2023 IP: 2a00:23c4:ce21:8801:

This is a silver chain / bracelet with rectangular links with I think Chinese characters - can anyone please help me translate these marks?

It is Japanese.
This silver bracelet was made by combining the rectangular "ichibugin" silver coins used in Edo period between 1736-1818.
Face,
一分銀 Ichibugin (1 unit silver) - monetary unit
Back,
定 - Jo - Regular
銀座常是 - Ginza Joze - Name of the silver coin mint officials of the Edo Shogunate, inherited from generations to generations and stamped on the silver coins.

With fregards,
I.Nagy
