Posted By: Bill H Sat, Apr 22, 2023 The mark is "Jin Tang Fu Ji" (錦堂福記), "The Splendid Hall of Good Fortune". According to a past edition of the Gerald Davison "Handbook of Marks on Chinese Ceramics", this mark has been known since the Qianlong-era. |

Posted By: Bill H Tue, Apr 25, 2023 I've volunteered to do Angela a one-time favor and process her photos, which she attempted to download in something other than jpeg or gif format. My further research turned up a gotheborg.com comment that a similar B&W mark of Jin tang fu ji was a Chinese factory name and possibly late Qing if not late 20th century. I found the mark also on a bronze-clad B&W tea caddy with Buddhistic Lion decoration described as possibly made for the Thai or Vietnam market. |
