Posted By: Michael Sat, Mar 04, 2023 IP: 2600:6c40:4d7f:cc9d:

Can anyone help indentify and translate this old surimono?
I was told it may be by Totoya Hokkei
Thank you!

The signature reads 'Aoigaoka rōjin ga' (葵岡老人画, drawn by the old man Aoigaoka'.

'Aoigaoka' is a pen name (gō) used by Toyota Hokkei (魚屋 北渓, 1780–1850).

The poem is signed by Sanzuntei Kusami (三寸亭草美) who collaborated with Hokkei and Gakutei during the mid 1820s.

Guy.
