Subject:Large chinese(?) bowl, double rim, fantasist mark
Posted By: Cimage Wed, Feb 15, 2023 IP: 213.49.65.65

Hello,

Would like any opinion on this large (30cm) bowl, chinese patterns. I was thinking maybe chinese production for the asian market (peranakan nyonya)… I thank you in advance for taking a look.

This is a Japanese example with Uzu-fuku mark.

This is a Japanese platter, possibly early 20th century (late Meiji - Taisho era). Has a "Fuku" (富) mark for "Good Fortune".

Best regards,

Bill H.

Its Japanese bowl.
Could be Meji period 1868-1912 or possible late Edo period.

Thanks very much for your reply.

Had thought about Japanese but it seemed to me a bit to much leaning on the chinese decorations (that’s why I thought about chinese porcelain for the Asian market).

Thanks again.
