I have a large porcelain bowl with this signature on the base. Can anyone identify please?

It is Chinese,
羊城戊辰年製 - Yangcheng, Made in the Year of Earth-Dragon (1928)

Yangcheng; a nickname for Guangzhou (Canton)

Many thanks for the info. Does the manufacture date to 1928? The decoration is incised and boldly enamelled... (see photos) Diameter 35cm. I have not seen anything which looks like this, would you know who the artist might be or do they tend to be anonymous? Thanks

The Year of Earth-Dragon comes around in every 60th year. 1868 would be too early, and 1988 to late for this decoration. It is typical of the Republic of China period.
Unfortunately the name of artist remains unidentifiable.

As long as Yangcheng (Guangzhou, Canton) is in China, let me assume that the bowl was made in china.
In support of this I found the following link on the net. Scroll down to "Old Chinese Vintage Canton Porcelain Box of Duck in Imari style" and you will find a marking exactly like yours, and below that, a longer description.

Wondered if this was a painters/artists mark?

Thanks so much for your reply and further info. I can just about see the resemblance in the base characters… obviously a different hand and maybe not as well painted? My bowl, in my opinion, has far better detail and quality of painting… I’m wondering (hoping) if my bowl might be 1868 and not 1928? I would value your final word on this. Thanks

It may of course just be by a ‘better artist’ in the Republic Period (1928)?
