Subject:Hand painted plate/charger/tray geisha girls, gold paint
Posted By: Carolie McLaughlin Fri, Sep 30, 2022 IP: 2601:183:201:e1e0:c4

I need help identifying a rectangular plate/charge/tray I have. It is square with a bold border. There is quite a bit of gold highlight paint and there are raised bits of paint giving the scene depth.
There is a mark on the back, over a reds smudge there are three characters.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

This is a Japanese Kutani (九谷) mark. Website gotheborg.com shows a somewhat similar marking as dated to circa 1930 (early Showa period, 1925-1989).

Judging from your photo, your tray looks like it would have been for serving asparagus.
