Dear friends,
The statue is 18” in height, made of metal (heavy, cold to the touch, reddish-copper color underneath, yet lightly magnetic!?) and seems gilt. I am not sure what type of metal that is- bronze?, and would really appreciate your input on the period and cultural origin 🙏

In my opinion this looks to be a lower grade commercial casting in high impurity brass alloy. I feel that this much bronze would typically be reserved for a finer casting. It also lacks the detail one would impart to a bronze. Looks like 20th Century to me.
