Subject:Chinese Insence Burner
Posted By: Steen Sun, Aug 28, 2022 IP: 83.92.110.13

A very large Chinese Bronze Insence Burner with unusual Xuande marks.
I have not seen a censer with three other 16 character extended Xuande marks on a censer before. Can anyone tell me what century this censer ws made and why there is 3 more marks at the bottom; does it mean something?? its 26 cm wide and 15 cm tall, 4 kilo.

I have just been at Google and found that the 16 character mark says ( I think): Made by Wu Bangzuo, supervisor of the Ministry of works, 5th year of the Xuande of the Great Ming. So does that mean its from the 17-18th century?? And why mark it 3 times??

Hi, Just for info from a very well expert that this is a censer made circa 1912-1930 Republic period, probably bronze alloy
