this looks like an old stone carvin, but is it really old?

You did not mention which material was used
As it stands it looks like a repaired older specimen

second thought, : not finely carved, made during the last 50 years.

Thank you. I don't know, which kind of stone it is. I just couldn't find any reference. I first thought, it is quite finely carved, it measures only 10 cm, but you are probably right with your suggestion.

As suggested by our esteemed member Ernest the carving is not very old.
Not sure though from your images exactly what the material is.
