Subject:Help with seal/dating vase
Posted By: Marote Sun, Jul 31, 2022 IP: 2a02:a456:b176:1:804

Dear knowledgeable people, I hope one of you can help me giving information on what the seal reads.
I only managed to figure out that the bottom left is 'Zhi', but I only found it in combination with Nian, and the top left character doesn't seem to match that.

This mark reads down and across from its top right in seal characters as "Made at Jingdezhen" (Jing de zhen zhi - 景德鎮製). The website gotheborg.com dates it to the 1970's.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Dear Bill & Mark,
Thank you for this information. I thought I had checked the gotheborg site thoroughly, but apparently not...
So the vase is just like me! From the 70's and just decorative value :)

Earlier this month I posted another vase (https://www.asianart.com/phpforum/index.php?method=detailAll&Id=143414), but I didn't get any reply there. I hope one of you can still solve that mystery.

Kind regards,
Mario

This vase is a modern copy. Decorative value only imo.
