Posted By: Bill H Sun, Jul 10, 2022 Your vase bears a four-character standard-character mark, which reads down and across from its top right as "Made during the Tongzhi reign" (Tong zhi nian zhi - 1862-74). However, the black pattern of the vase was laid down using mechanically-printed transfers. Nuances of this practice and stylistic treatment of the figures depicted suggest this vase is a mid-to-late 20th century Chinese-made porcelain blank that was decorated and refired at a Macao or Hong Kong workshop. |
