Subject:Chinese Porcelian Lidded Bowl
Posted By: Nancy Campione Fri, Jul 08, 2022 IP: 2601:80:4600:87b0:31

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me identify the approximate age and maker of this Chinese lidded porcelain bowl. Marked on top & bottom. Thank you!
Nancy

Below the "CHINA" stamp, your bowl bears a six-character seal script mark of "Made during the Jiaqing reign of the Great Qing dynasty" (Da qing jia qing nian zhi), which is shown upside down. The bowl's attractive decoration of women minding children at play in a garden on a turquoise ground is rendered in a figural style seen in the early Republic period (1912-49). Compare the treatment of the figures shown on the pedestal dish in images downloaded below.

Best regards,

Bill H.
