Found and purchased this out of an estate about 15 years ago labeled as a "Japanese Woodblock," though upon inspection it appeared to be painting on silk. The subject appears to be a Chinese beauty contemplating a few butterflies. Measures approx. 15.5" (39.4 cm) by 6.75" (17.3 cm). Please pardon the glare in the first photo.

Any information regarding the artist, the inscription, and the period would be warmly appreciated and I thank you in advance for the same.

Your Yang Guifei with buttefly is by Maruyama Oukyo.
But in this size it is indeed a woodblock reproduction.
Shimbi Shion and Kokka publishers and maybe others had produced high quality reproductions of this kind. Was the reproduced work on silk they used silk too.
