Subject:Re: Translation of these characters
Posted By: Bill H Sun, May 29, 2022 Both are apocryphal marks that are read down and across from the top right as 'Made during the Kangxi reign' (Kang xi nian zhi - 康熙年製). The vases indeed are 20th century late bloomers, although polychrome crackle glaze vases of the same configuration and apocryphal Ming marks of 'Made during the Chenghua Reign' first appeared in the late 19th century. |
