Subject:Signed ivory netsuke Masahiro?
Posted By: Joan Sat, Apr 23, 2022 IP: 104.173.220.228 I think the signature on this netsuke reads Masahiro, can someone confirm that? Also, this does not appear to be elephant ivory, but it is not bone, can someone tell me what this is? Thanks again in advance -

Posted By: Steve Gridley Sun, Apr 24, 2022 The carving looks like it could have Schreger lines. If they are and the angle is less than 90 degrees it is possibly mammoth ivory. Best can do.
