Posted By: Per Sat, Jan 22, 2022 IP: 213.65.164.215

Hey guys, so bought this scroll a couple of years ago and just recently had it hung on my wall. What I’m curious about is what it’s about. Anyone who can help me out here ..?
Thanks!

This is a rubbing of the engraved stele of the famous poem of the Han Shan temple in Hangzhou.

Thi is a stone rubbing of the Chinese poetry stone monument at the Hanshan Temple in Suzhou.
The title of inscribed poem is "A Night Mooring by Maple Bridge" (楓橋夜泊) written by the Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Ji (張継).
The poetry stone (stele) from which this rubbing was made is the second re-engraved version of the original brush calligraphy of Zhang Ji by a Qin Dynasty carver Yue Yue (愈樾).

With regards,
