Subject:Mark on bottom of rice bowls - I've looked for days myself
Posted By: Jeff R. Thu, Jan 13, 2022 IP: 170.75.139.3

Happy New Year and may it be a fantastic year for you all! I have three different rice bowls from an estate sale with this mark on the bottom. I can not find it anywhere after days of looking. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The mark 瑞山 is Japanese. I.Nagy surely can provide the pronunciation and further comment.

Best regards,

Bill H.

The mark reads,
瑞山 - Zuizan
Most probably a kind of Kuwana Banko ware and the mark can be related to the potter Kaga Zuizan 加賀瑞山 (1896-1982).

With regards,
I.Nagy
