Subject:China/Japan bronze vase with lid
Posted By: Tim Sat, Dec 25, 2021 IP: 2a02:a03f:8096:7a00:

Chinese bronze vase with lid.

I have a bronze vase and I was wondering a few things.
Is it Japanese / Chinese?
Is it possible to translate the maker mark on the bottom?

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Tim

The mark reads 村彦製造 which I should pronounce as 'Murahiko seizô' (manufactured by Murahiko). Japanese Meiji period censer in patinated bronze ca. 1890. After a short search, I found no further information on this metalworker/workshop.

Guy.
