Subject:Help With Silk Painting Seal Identification
Posted By: Wade601 Tue, Dec 21, 2021 IP: 66.175.164.169

Hi, I hope all of you and your loved ones are well. I would greatly appreciate any and all help identifying/translating the chops on this painting of "Refusing the Seat"(?) that I recently took over the responsibility of looking after. In advance, thank you very much!

They are collectors' seals,
天籟閣 - Tianlai Pavilion
Was the seal of Xiang Yuanbin 項元汴 1525-1590, colletor and painter of the Ming Dynasty

三希堂精鑑璽 - Inspected by the Hall of Rarities
Seal used by Emperor Qianlong 1736-1795

The more famous collectors' seals are, the more they are copied.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Thank you very much. I feel certain that this painting is without question not old enough for a collectors' seal from the Ming Dynasty-era, so thank you very much for responding because this answers many other questions, as well. Again, thank you!
