Subject:Any idea what is this?
Posted By: AAF Visitor Sun, Dec 19, 2021 IP: 130.105.160.59,165.2

It is a pair, porcelain material, 8" height, seems the cap is missing. There is a Chinese text on top but no marking in the bottom. No idea what is this, any clue is appreciated.

Despite the distortion of the photograph, I suggest this is a tea caddy, minus the lid.

The inscription is 康熙辛亥中和堂製, Made in the Hall of Harmony during the XinHai year of the KangXi Emperor (1671) (Hope my maths is good enough)

Hard to tell from the photos, but not of the period. Much later in my opinion. Perhaps early 20th C.

@ Mikeoz Thu; thanks for your help. For the date, I came to the same conclusion through a different channel, though "in the Hall of Harmony" was translated to "by Zhongghetang".
