Cloisonné isn't my focus but I've acquired enough over the years to recognize your vase as Japanese and probably made during the late Meiji period (1868-1912). I'd suggest you go online and search the terms "Japanese Cloisonné Goldstone" to bring up additional photos and sources of current pricing information. You'd need clear photos of markings and help from a Japanese language expert such as I.Nagy to identify a maker.

FYI, the orange background with a sparkly effect is called "goldstone" but contains no precious metal. It usually brings with it a higher value if the vase is undamaged.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Hello Bill H

Many thanks for your information and comments.
The goldstone or as sometimes called Adventurine is a very nice enamel,I have a small box (posted on this forum before) that has Goldstone on top and sides, the vase is not signed.

I have attached some images of my box ,may be made by Honda Yosaburo (suggested by a few dealers )
he rarely signed his work, unusual kidney shape.
Fred.
