Posted By: peter Fri, Nov 05, 2021 This also is a seal cut and used by Qi Ta. Compares well enough to references, but decisions based on seals are not worth a lot, you would need to forward pics of the paintings to get an opinion about the authenticity. peter |

Posted By: peter Mon, Nov 08, 2021 I checked with serious references in the estate collection (in Chaoyang) and it is not possible to relate this painting to Qi Ta. The shrimps are painted close to the way the master would draw them, but his brush is free, and he always cares to provide reasonable variations in the shapes and the movements of such a group of animals. Also always there seems to be a little gap between body and tail. |
