Subject:Chinese silver box?
Posted By: Roger Wed, Oct 27, 2021 IP: 2601:281:d300:975:31

Hi All,
I would greatly appreciate any help identifying this box and the calligraphy (top and bottom). I believe it might be an ink box (if there is such a thing). Also, appears to be silver.
Thank you!

This is a rectangular silver ink box. The interior of the box is dark with patina and ink stone.
Inscription in my rough translation,
洗觴來舊雨 流咏見高風
I wash my old wine cup in the rain
High winds are looking at me while reciting poems
Right side,
春如吾兄請玩 - To my brother Chunru as plaything
Left side,
弟四泉敬贈 - With compliments from younger brother Sichuan

Back side,
北京 - Beijing
瑞珍 - Ruizhen (Auspicious treasure) - Maker's mark

Probably from late Qing Dynasty.

With regards,

I.Nagy
