Subject:Help identifying 'bird vase'.
Posted By: Paul Benson Tue, Oct 12, 2021 IP: 72.160.17.37

I have searched diligently for the origin of this vase but cannot find any info. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And I was wondering what the proper term is for this kind of vase with an opening through the belly such as this one has.
I found this vase in a storage unit I bought at auction. There was a sticker on the bottom that read 'From the Davis family - mid to late 19th Century'. Also stored with it was a box containing some civil war badges/insignia and a brass army name stencil that said 'Lieut. G.B. Davis'. So I tend to think this probably is a 19th century item. The only marking I can see is a '20' on the bottom. Thanks for any info.
