Hi there,
I got this huge bronze censer with a god like figure and Emperor child (with chrysantheums on its cloth, symbol of Japan Emperor family). The design is really Chinese but refer to the tale of 1 in 10000 carps climbing the waterfall to become a dragon... It is 39" in height.
It is votive in origins and flanked by 2 Black dragons of equisite details.
I know the maker is Japanese and that this piece might be linked to an important part of Japan recent history but can't be sure about the maker signature.
