Subject:Chinese translation Sought
Posted By: Howard Dennis Sat, Sep 18, 2021 IP: 2600:8807:a64a:7f00:

Just acquired this and was told it might be Chinese. Can anyone tell me what it says and possibly a date?

Thank You,
Howard Dennis

Pic.3,
Colophon on the left side reads,
大清元年冬月中旬製 - Made in the Middle of Winter Month in the 1st Year of the Qing Dynasty (1616)
鳩基題 - Inscription by Jiu Ji (Given name or art-name)

The other inscriptions are fictitious or real mountain names with references to visit them.

The 大清元年 "1st Year of Qing" dynasty as era name never has been used - therefore, unlikely to be true !

Most likely a modern carving.

With regards,
I.Nagy

I.Nagy, thanks for your reply. Could this have been a souvenir bought at one of the mountains listed? Just trying to understand why it was created.
