Subject:Help with Hirosada woodblock print
Posted By: Stan Fri, Sep 17, 2021 IP: 2601:18c:504:a6e0:2d

Goodday Asian art lovers,

I bought a print lot at auction and the Hirosada woodblock print below has me stumped. The Osaka artists typically used a chuban size for their prints. This print is about 4 5/8 X 6 3/4 inches. That is like a half a koban (6.75 X 9) size. I'm thinking it might be from an ehon/book, but there is no evidence of binding holes. This looks like it is from an actor series, but I couldn't find such a series online.

If you can provide any information to help my research, I'd be most appreciative.

Cheers,
Stan
