Subject:Identification help please: Japanese (?) brass-bound cabinet with Chinese (?) inscription

I am researching this cabinet inherited from distant relatives who lived in China and Japan for a long time.
(1) The brass-bound style of the cabinet may be Japanese? Opinions appreciated.
(2) However, the three character inscription on the inside look more like tradition Chinese characters, which I am unable to read. Help to translate much appreciated.
(3) The wood looks a bit like 'golden camphor', while other parts look like elm wood. Appreciate help in identification.
