Subject:Wooden box with a ceramic statue of Bodhidharma
Posted By: Tony Wed, May 05, 2021 IP: 98.152.172.26

Dear friends,
It is another wooden box containing a ceramic statue of Bodhidharma, which bears a small mark underneath. There is also a seal on the top right that is very faded.
I would really appreciate your kind help on translating the writings and providing inputs on the object.
Many thanks,
Tony

達磨 - Daruma - Bodhidharma
Signature,
重幸 - Shigeyuki
Seal,
重印 - Shige-in - Seal of Shige

It is a Seto ware, made by Masuda Shigeyuki 増田重幸

Dear I. Nagy,
Thank you very much for your help and expertise, as always 🙏🙏🙏
Is it possible to tell the period as for where this was made based on the writings or from the statue itself?
Tony

The artist, Masuda Shigeyuki was born in 1927 in Kyōto. These lucky darumas were produced in Seto's Manju Kiln (満寿窯)
Aboves are the only information about him I could find on the Japanese language net.

With regards,
I.Nagy
