宮島　-　Miyajima (lit. Shrine Island)
a.k.a. Itsukushima 厳島, NW. of Hiroshima Bay, famous for its shrine, a World Heritage Site.

Thank you very much I.Nagy for translating - I've had a google and Itsukushima looks like a lovely place.

It makes sense now, and the box was probably made for tourists.
