Title,
謙信 - Kenshin
Signature,
彦一作 - Made by Hikoichi
Seal,
小林彦一 - Kobayashi Hikoichi

This is a picture of Uesugi Kenshin 上杉謙信、daimyō and military commander (1530-1578) drawn on a kite made of handmade Echigo paper.

Kobayashi Hikoichi (Date of birth unknown, has passed away a couple of years ago at the age of 80) was a kite maker in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture. Most of the pictures he has drawn on kites are those of military commanders, there are about 30 types, such as Uesugi Kenshin, Minamoto Yoshitsune etc.

With regards,
I.Nagy
