Subject:Help with Mark on Kutani vase
Posted By: Ian E Thu, Mar 25, 2021 IP: 86.0.150.215

Hi, I am stuck on translating the mark on this late 19th/early 20th C Kutani vase, any help much appreciated. The Kutani mark is clear enough but I can't work out the left most column.

TIA

I think I have most of it worked out now:

鏑木製

But I'm not sure on the last character.

The mark reads: Kutani - Kaburagi (or Kaburaki) 鏑木 Sei no 製之 (Kaburagi made this).

Kaburagi Kutani Porcelain Shop was established in Kanazawa in 1822 as the very first Kutani merchant family business. Since then, the Kaburagi family has handed down the family business from generation to generation until the present 8th generation.
This mark dates from around 1900.
Regards,
Martin.
