Subject:Small Asian dish
Posted By: Denise E Fri, Mar 19, 2021 IP: 2601:602:77f:6360:7d

I inherited this small dish from my grandmother many years ago. (She also had a large bowl in this style.) I've been trying to research it, but have come up empty.

It's about 6 inches in diamter, with painted flowers, and is also decorated on the back. The background is a pale bluish-greenish color,, although, despite my best efforts, I don't think that comes through as well in the photos as I'd like.

I'd be interested to know anything about it -- where it comes from, its style, and age. It would also be marvelous to know about the mark on the back.

If you can enlighten me or point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful.

The dish is Chinese. It has a tongzhi seal mark indicating 1861-1875.
The quality is rather poor. It could be from the period or later production.
