Someone else will have to help you with the translation I'm afraid but I can say with confidence that that is a Meiji period okimono.

These pieces were quite common in Japan around last quarter of the 19th and first few decades of the 20th century. I'd probably lean towards it being a slightly later one.

A nice piece.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Hi Lionel,
I can't help you with the signature etc.
It's my belief that your carving is from the late Meiji period 1868-1912 or perhaps early taisho period 1912-1926.
I was having a hard time enlarging your item as it tended to blur.
Nice piece.

Do you know the period? I tried to find Kikushin as the carver on the internet, but without result. Perhaps you know more about the artist.
