The profile and crackle glaze of your contemporary era mini bottle vase possibly was inspired by Chinese Song Dynasty (960-1279) "Guan" ware, which appeared to copy a scarcer type from Henan Province known as "Ru" ware. However, the resemblance ends there with yours, as its crackle glaze appears to differ in it heaviness and the piece lacks signs of age. I've attached a photo of a Guan bottle vase in the British Museum below for comparison.
Apart from serving as a bud vase, a similar size and shape of vessel like yours might have been used in olden times as a water dropper for the desk of an artist/scholar. Still a nice conversation piece.
