Renzo Freschi opened his gallery in 1976. He deals in antique Oriental art, with a particular preference for the sculpture of Gandhara, India and China from the second century BC to the thirteenth century AD. The gallery also deals in Tibetan art and Chinese furniture. Renzo Freschi has organised more than thirty monographic exhibitions on different aspects, themes and periods of Eastern art and has published twelve catalogues, many with the contribution of eminent scholars. Among these exhibitions we mention "Immortal Beauty" on the human sculptural image from India to Tibet, "The Art of Buddhism from India to China" with 11 essays by 7 eminent Italian scholars on Buddhist art, religion and literature and "The Art of Gandhara" with 3 essays on art, history and archaeology of Gandhara.
