Prabin Shakya / Pradip Shakya
Filigree involves the curling, twisting and plaiting of fine pliable threads of precious and semi-precious metals, which are then soldered together to form an object. Prabin and Pradip Shakya have perfected the process by using very fine grains of beads and wires scarcely thicker than horsehair to produce a grand menagerie of birds.
Embellished with jewels, the intertwining of silver and gold reveal intricate layers of meticulous design. A love of creativity through filigree - cultivated by their father and grandfather - connects these two brothers.
