Father & Child During Kailas kora (circuit)

Father and son at Tarchen wait for the truck. Their
Kailas pilgrimage is almost complete. In the old days Tibetans journeyed
on foot for months or years to reach Kailas. Now their routes are replaced
by Chinese-built roads, and most arrive atop cargo trucks – the only
remotely public form of transport in western Tibet. |
