Birojanabul (Vairocana) is identified by its mudra, the right hand clasping its left index finger; the hand gesture called jigwon-in. He is sitting in dhyanasana position on a round high lotus base. Buddhist wood statues represent an important part of the sculptural tradition of the Choson period.
