A repousse gilt copper panel
Tibet
possibly Densatil
Circa 15th Century
Dimensions: 8” x 8” (20.5 x 20.5cm)

The foliate edged lappet with elaborate crystal-tipped bell-pendants of ‘pearls’ bears an image of the tantric form of Vajravina, the goddess of music and learning, playing the vina as she dances on her lotus throne.

An image of this particular piece is to be included in a forthcoming European scholarly work being prepared from the known Tibetan texts on the subject of Densatil.
