AN 'ADAMS' PART DINNER SERVICE

This service has been attributed to the President John Adams (1735-1826) and his wife Abigail (1744-1818). Each porcelain plate decorated at the centre with a large single rose finely painted in pink enamel within a border of gilt bamboo and four roses in green and pink enamels, and a spearhead border at the rim. The part service of 29 pieces, comprising: 5 Saucers, 10 Soup plates, 13 Dinner plates and a Wine cooler.
