The sandalwood hinged cover incorporating a hinged compartment entirely veneered with engraved ivory and tortoiseshell mounted with carved ivory animals against a background of densely scrolling foliage around a central roundel depicting a lion hunt in front of a Hindu temple, with silver studs, lock and hinges.
