The backside of the courtyard is dominated by silhouettes of the many pagoda roofs of Patan Darbar. The courtyard was landscaped in order to serve as a garden cafeteria and as a venue for cultural events. Seventy truckloads of remaining earth quake debris were removed from this area partially freeing some historical courtyard pavements.
