Alley in Conservation Area.

A turn off the bustling Barkor walkway leads one to the quiet interior life of old Lhasa. This is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Lhasa, known as Oedepug, that dates back to the 7th century. It is also one of the few intact alleyways lined only with old buildings. Currently, the THF is carrying out upgrading and conservation activities here. It is hoped the this neighbourhood will become an official protected historic area by the end of 1997.
