| This strange half vegetable half insect is largely
gathered in the Himalayan regions,and is known as Yartsa Gumbu (also "winter
worm, summer grass") in Tibetan (dong chong xia cao in Chinese). It
is an important source of income for many Tibetans and Nepalese living in
the high altitude regions where the herb is found. |
