Fig. 22:
Sketch by a former doctor at the Medical College

The inner organization of the main building of the college
After information from Amchi Tenzin Palchok
1997

This sketch is immensely valuable in the attempt to reconstruct the layout of the building. The tower contained a large number of images of famous doctors in addition to other objects of no interest for the present purpose of establishing the structure of the building. The important information is that the tower had three floors and that the lower floor was raised some steps over the floor in the Prayer hall. The other numbers indicate the following: 1 Prayer hall, 2 Storage for medicine thangkas, 3 Storage for silk decorations, 4 Unknown use, 5 Print shop with side entrance, 6 Main entrance door to the Prayer hall. It’s a pity that the main stairs are not mentioned.
