About Asianart.com
Asianart.com is dedicated to all aspects of Asian art. It is our ambition to
offer a forum for scholars, museums and commercial galleries. We display highlights
of exhibitions in public and private institutions and galleries; present new discoveries
by scholars and connoisseurs; and, by providing space for private galleries to present
their works, offer the visitor a selection of fine Asian art worldwide. If you are interested in contributing to the site (museum exhibitions, scholars) or joining the site by advertising your gallery or collection, please use the E-mail response form . Let us know about your institution or gallery's upcoming exhibitions in Asian art. If possible, we will post your event on the site, or we may want to feature your exhibition. We will be happy to consider contributions from scholars for notes on work in progress or articles on various aspects of Asian art for publication at this site. Publication on the Web provides scholars with an avenue to immediate publication of new discoveries and work in progress (the work can even be updated). We welcome and encourage color photographs in material submitted for publication. We also welcome letters and requests for information from scholars visiting the site. As the interactive possibilities of the World Wide Web are what make its future so exciting, we are eager to put these capabilities to use in Asianart.com; our recently introduced Message Board makes this possible without interference - or extra labor - from the editors. Please feel free to post letters on any subject; we particularly welcome enquiries with photos of objects you wish to have more information on. We would also like to see forums develop here for the purpose of discussing controversial points of Asian art, and we welcome any letter that asks for a reply from colleagues. Asianart.com will be updated as new material is received, so that the site will be constantly renewed. At the same time, we will keep on-line all material posted previously, so that as the site grows, visitors will be able to access past exhibitions and articles as well as those recently posted; it is the intention of the editors to keep as much good material on-line as is possible, so that Asianart.com can become a true resource in the study of the Arts of Asia.
