A finely painted set of small thangka representing teachers, lamas, bodhisattva and tantric deities.
Jigme Lingpa (1729-1798) was a Tibetan terton of the Nyngma sect of Tibetan Buddhism. He was the promulgator of the Longchen, the Heart Essence teachings of Longchenpa, from whom, according to tradition, he received a vision in which the teachings were revealed. The Longchen Nyingthik eventually became the most famous and widely practiced cycle of Dzogchen teachings.

Holding a vajra in his right hand and a skull cup in which floats a longevity vase in the left.

Wearing a gold necklace and a set of robes: an inner red robe with gold embroidery and a light brown outer cloak with blue lining wrapped around his shoulders and legs.
He is sitting in vajra posture on a large cushion with a red back seat, a white offering scarf is draped around the back seat.

At the upper left and right are represented the moon and sun disks illustrating mastery of insight and means.

The guru has a youthful face with long ears, the hairs are tied in a top knot. A large blue halo behind his head.
