eBay seems to be positively stuffed with repros of published Ming pieces. My impression is that the Chinese cloisonne workshops aren't picky about hiring people who can actually draw. Even artists who can draw very precisely and thus be likely to be excellent forgers can't seem to resist putting their own spin on a design. But craftspeople hired to do work just cannot, cannot, competently copy a design. As to your plates, the difference between the rather fierce Ming dragons and the cartoony copies just screams at me. Am not trying to be snooty or anything like that, just honest.
